If you wish to honor a special veteran, you may purchase a four-inch by eight-inch engraved brick for placement within the memorial plaza. The price of this memorial brick is $50.

Your honored veteran need only to have worn the uniform of his or her country on active duty at any time from the Revolutionary War through the present day. Service during a time of conflict is not mandatory.

Name of Veteran:
All names will be abbreviated to initials and last names. For instance, Joseph G. Doakes, Junior will be abbreviated to J G Doakes, Jr, unless there may be confusion, such as James versus John Smith, which would be shortened to AJas Smith@ or AJn Smith@.

Branch of Service:
Choose one: US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, Merchant Marine. Inscription shall be in the form of AUS (for US Army), USN, USAF, USMC, USCG, MM. Other branches such as the Public Health Service or the US Coast and Geodetic Survey which may be mobilized and serve under a major branch of the Armed Forces will be entered under that particular service branch with a notation of the particular uniform worn by the member, e.g. "USN (PHS)"

Any Special Unit:
For instance: Mosby=s Rangers, Seabees, SEALS, Airborne, 92nd Airborne, 382nd Bomb Group, but only if space permits. Abbreviations may be used.

Highest Rank:
For instance: Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt), Airman, Construction Electrician 2nd Class (CE2), Able Seaman, Lieutenant (Junior Grade) (Lt(jg)). Ranks will be abbreviated!

Dates of Service:
For instance: 1926 B 1935 if member served in peacetime or name of conflict (e.g. Korean War) Unfortunately, we may need to abbreviate the name of the conflict. A key shall be provided on-site.

Special Awards:
For instance: Purple Heart (PH), Bronze Star (BS), Combat Infantryman=s Badge (CIB), Silver Star (SS), Medal of Honor (MH). A key to abbreviations shall be provided on-site.

Your memorial brick will appear in the manner below:









The engraving is limited to three lines of 14 characters per line (including spaces), just like the memorial pavers found at the NYS Fairgrounds. If you want to add more to the inscription, eight inch square bricks can be carved and will cost $100.

There will be six granite benches located within the Memorial Plaza, honoring each branch of the Armed Services as recognized by Congress and which saw service during and since World War 2: the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine. Each bench may be purchased for $4,000 and may be purchased by individuals or groups. Donors and all veterans they wish to honor will have their names carved in white granite stone located at ground level in front of the benches.

The eight bollard-type lighting fixtures may be purchased for $1,000 each. Donors will be recognized by plaques affixed to the bollards.

Donations which cannot be assigned to a particular item of furniture in the plaza will be recognized in the following categories:

Worker: Donation between $101 and $500
Donor will receive a framed certificate.

Associate: Donation between $501 and $1,000
Donor will have an 8” x 8” brick paver placed in the walk.

Donor: Donation between $1,001 and $2,000
Donor will receive a brass plaque affixed to a bollard lighting fixture

Sponsor: Donation between $2,001 and $4,000
Donor will have a 16” x 8” white granite stone placed in the walk.

Patron: Donation in excess of $4,000
Donor will have a 24” x 12” white granite stone placed in the walk.
