Greetings!
We’re looking forward this week to returning to the Merry-Go-Round Theater in Auburn to see the musical “Meet Me in St Louis” . We’ll give you a brief report of our trip next week.
Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go to Center participant Maggie Sherwood after her recent surgery.
There is still room available for our trip to the New York State Fair on Tuesday August 31st We leave from the former Grand Union parking lot at 9 AM and return to Hamilton about 6 PM. The cost is $15 for transportation and admission to the fair for seniors is free. Please call for reservations.
Just a few openings left for the AARP Driver Safety program on Wednesday September 8th and Thursday September 9th, from 1PM to 5 PM each day in Building 5 of Madison Lane Apartments. Bob Bond will conduct classes. Please call my office to register.
The Madison County Office for the Aging is sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner, Saturday September 11th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the City of Oneida Recreation Center. (formally the Armony). The dinner includes spaghetti with sauce, meatballs and sausage, salad, dessert and beverage. The cost is $5.50 for seniors $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 12 and under. In honor of Grandparents Day 2010, bring your grandchild/children and get one child’s meal free. All proceeds go towards programs and services provided by the Madison OFA such as our own SNACK program here at the Center. Come enjoy a great meal and support a good cause! We are no longer taking reservations for the September 14th matinee performance of “Man of La Mancha” , but if you would like to be on the waiting list in case of cancellations, please give me a call.
Our Adirondack Fall Foliage trip this year will be Tuesday October 5th, when we head to Old Forge, enjoying lunch at the scenic North Woods Inn overlooking the 4th Lake of the Fulton Chain then departing for a 2-hour narrated sightseeing cruise through the first four lakes, ending the day with a visit to the Old Forge Hardware Store. The all-inclusive price is $65. We are already over half-filled so make your reservations promptly if you’d like to join us.
