July 4, 2010
This year's parade theme is "Hometown Pride".
A full schedule of events is being planned. Local organizations, musical groups, floats, and area residents are all invited to take part in this year’s parade which steps off from the airpark at 12:30 p.m. in order to arrive in the center of town at 1 p.m.
Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries in this year’s parade. New this year is a “traveling award” that will be presented to the “most green” entry. Awards and this year’s logo have been created by local artist David Grace and apprentice Andrews Hicks of Earthworks Design Studio in Hamilton. The logo features 10 flags representing 2010 and focuses on a family excited about the day’s festivities at dawn of the 4th of July.
Area youngsters are also welcome to decorate their bikes and join the parade – with the winner receiving a $25 prize from Adventure Bikes & Boards. Helmets and registration/release forms are required. Participants under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Flyers will be distributed at local schools.
Please complete and return the parade application form as soon as possible. After we receive your application, we will send confirmation information and any other information you may need.
There is a $50 application fee for commercial/business entry.
This can be waived if the entry is clearly oriented towards the theme of the parade
