Hamilton Rotary Collecting Donations for Haiti. The Hamilton Rotary Club is accepting donations for a disaster fund being set up through The Rotary Foundation. Cash donations will enable organizations to bring in the basic necessities of water, food, & medicine to aid in search and rescue efforts begun in Haiti. Feb. 7th, All major credit cards accepted, 315-824-2625 Feb. 13th The Jane Austen Book Club will host a staged reading of the 1798 Elizabeth Inchbald play "Lover's Vows," on Saturday, February 13 at 2 p.m. at the Colgate Bookstore on 3 Utica Street. The parts will be read by members of the Jane Austen Book Club and the Syracuse Region of the Jane Austen Society of North America, and local volunteers. The reading is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be provided. Feb. 13th The Colgate Bookstore will host a Scaredy Squirrel children’s program at 11 a.m. The event will feature stories about a lovable squirrel who is afraid of nearly everything, a Scaredy Emergency Kit craft, and a chocolate/peanut butter “acorn” snack. The program is free and open to children of all ages, but is mainly geared towards ages 3-7. To insure enough snacks and supplies for all, parents are asked to register in advance at www.colgatebookstore.com/scaredy. Feb. 13th Sweet Retreat, Hamilton Center for the Arts, Workshops 1-6pm, dinner at 6:30, performance by Adi Shakti, World Fusion Tribal Dance at 7:30pm, performance open to public for $5 fee. $30 covers workshop dinner and performance.
